If you aren't specifying a key when you increment the view counter, leave the View Key setting blank.
# Add field to element's field layout
This field is read-only, and cannot be edited (without directly accessing the database).
# View as column on element index page
Add the new field to your element's field layout. You can then select it as a column on your element's index page.
